Fitting a trampoline into your garden design

A trampoline on legs is usually the tallest thing in the garden. One that sits level with the lawn is a different proposition.

    It keeps the view

A FlatGround trampoline sits completely level with the lawn. There is no frame on legs, no step up and no ladder. From the kitchen window you see the garden, not the trampoline.

An InGround trampoline is set into the lawn with a low raised edge, so it is a little more visible. The FlatGround vs InGround page compares the two.

Choose the shape to suit the space

Round FlatGround trampolines come in 11ft, 12.5ft and 14ft. Rectangular ones run from 6 x 6ft up to 16 x 10ft, and the Pro Bouncer is also made as a 16 x 16ft square. A rectangle tends to sit well along a boundary or in a long, narrow garden. A circle suits an open lawn.

See round FlatGround trampolines, rectangular FlatGround trampolines and the sizes guide.

    Decide about the net early

A safety net is the part you will see. Round FlatGround trampolines are sold without one. The larger rectangular models can be ordered with or without. If keeping the garden open is the reason you want a FlatGround, that choice matters as much as the shape.

See FlatGround without a safety net and FlatGround with a safety net.

    Colour

BERG's colours are grey, green and black. Grey is the most popular. Ask us which colours are available for the model you want.

    Where to put it

    • Somewhere you can see from the house, so you can keep an eye on whoever is using it.
    • Away from the spot where water gathers after rain. See our note on drainage.
    • Clear of overhanging branches, washing lines and walls.
    • Where a digger can reach it, if access to the back garden is tight. Mention this to your installer.

If you are redoing the whole garden

Tell your landscaper or garden designer about the trampoline at the start, so it is planned with the lawn, paths and planting rather than added afterwards. The groundwork is done by an installer, landscaper or builder, who will look at the garden and quote. We do not install, but we can put you in touch with an independent installer.

A free garden consultation is a good way to settle the size and shape before the design is fixed.
