FlatGround vs InGround Trampolines: Which Suits Your Garden?

Both are sunk into the lawn. A FlatGround sits completely level with the grass; an InGround has a low raised edge. Here is how the two BERG types compare.

    FlatGround: level with the lawn

A FlatGround has no step up and no ladder, and because nothing stands above the grass it keeps the view of the garden. It sits at ground level, so it catches far less wind than a trampoline on legs.

BERG makes the FlatGround in three ranges: Champion (from €699), Elite (from €1,349) and Pro Bouncer (from €2,829). There is no Favorit FlatGround and no oval FlatGround. See the round and rectangular models.

    InGround: a low raised edge

An InGround is also set into the lawn, but its edge stands a little above the grass. It is made in Favorit (from €339), Champion (from €779) and Elite (from €1,109), so the starting price is lower than a FlatGround.

It is also the type to look at if you want an oval trampoline, or a round one with a safety net. More on the InGround page and the Grand oval page.

    Groundwork for either type

Both types need a hole in the lawn. We supply and deliver the trampoline; we do not install. The groundwork is done by an independent installer, landscaper or builder who looks at your garden and quotes, and BERG's manual for the model sets out what they follow. We can put you in touch with an independent installer.

Read who does the installation and what to ask and what affects an installer's quote.

    Which should you choose?

A FlatGround is the better fit if you:

    • Want the trampoline completely level with the grass
    • Want a square trampoline, a Pro Bouncer or an AeroWall
    • Are happy with a round trampoline that has no net

An InGround is the better fit if you:

    • Want a round trampoline with a safety net
    • Want an oval trampoline
    • Want the lower starting price of the Favorit range
